Six Weeks Later

This is a follow-up to "The Crash They Bought", published April 3, 2026.

ZBIO closed at ~$19 on May 16. Readers who followed the signal are down approximately 14%.

That is the honest starting point for this update.

What the CEO Did

On April 28–29, Leon Moulder bought 60,000 more shares at $17.62–$18.02. Cost: $1.07 million. Out of his own pocket.

This is not the original cluster buy from January. This is new money deployed at lower prices than the cluster I flagged six weeks ago.

Date Insider Shares Avg Price
Jan 7–9 CEO Moulder 100,000 $16.39
Jan–Mar Dir. Lu / NEXTBio / Fairmount ~750,000+ $20.00
Mar 30–31 CEO Moulder 54,000 $18.77
Apr 2 Dir. Lu / NEXTBio 3,768 $18.63
Apr 28–29 CEO Moulder 60,000 $17.82

Total insider buying since January: ~$17.5M+. Sells: zero.

When a stock drops 14% and the CEO responds by buying more — at even lower prices than his original purchases — that is not capitulation. That is averaging down with conviction.

What Changed

The BLA is imminent. Zenas confirmed the biologics license application for obexelimab in IgG4-RD will be submitted to the FDA this quarter (Q2 2026). The Phase 3 INDIGO data — 56% flare reduction, all secondary endpoints met — will be presented in an oral session at EULAR on June 4.

Cash is not a concern. $718.5 million on hand. Runway to 2029. No dilution forced.

The pipeline expanded. ZB021 (oral IL-17AA/AF inhibitor) dosed its first patient in May. This wasn't in the picture six weeks ago.

SunStone is on schedule. Phase 2 SLE topline in Q4 2026 — not pushed, not delayed. My earlier notes suggested otherwise. They were wrong.

What Hasn't Changed

Zero insider sells. Not one. Through a 14% drawdown from the offering price, through broader biotech volatility, through six months of holding. The original thesis — insiders buying a crash with conviction that the biology works — is intact.

The Assessment

The insider signal has intensified, not faded. What began as a cluster buy became a sustained accumulation campaign — five rounds of purchasing over five months, with the most recent at the lowest prices yet.

Readers are underwater. That's real. But the people with the most information about this company — and the most to lose — are responding to the same drawdown by buying more. The near-term catalyst (BLA filing) is weeks away, not months.

The signal isn't broken. The timeline was longer than the price action suggested.
